Practical support for tenant associations across Ontario
The Ontario Renters Coalition helps tenant associations build capacity, understand Above Guideline Rent Increases (AGIs), and navigate the Landlord and Tenant Board process. We share practical resources and provide direct support shaped around your association’s needs.
One-to-one AGI training
Our team can work with your tenant association through the AGI challenge process. Training can cover:
- Organizing and fundraising strategies
- Reviewing AGI materials and preparing evidence
- Preparing for the Landlord and Tenant Board’s Case Management Hearing
- Understanding the process and planning next steps
- Regular check-ins with your association
Consultation for your association
One-hour consultations help associations review their current approach, identify questions and plan practical next steps. Support is tailored to your association; outcomes depend on the facts and tribunal process.
Before you contact us
Tell us your association’s name, city and the support you need. If you have an LTB hearing, include its date. Have the notice, application and supporting documents ready for your own review; agree on how to share confidential materials before sending them.
Resources and peer support
Members can access practical tools and connections to help tenant associations learn from one another and take collective action.
AGI guides and tools
Use our AGI Calculator to estimate a building-wide capital-expense increase and compare scenarios when you question a claimed cost. Read the one-page guide and check your inputs against the landlord’s application package. The public beta is free to use through December 31, 2026; it does not determine which costs the LTB will approve.
