The Ontario Renters Coalition connects tenant associations and tenant advocates across Ontario. Membership brings practical tools, peer knowledge and a stronger collective voice to the work of protecting renters.
Membership at a glance
Annual fee: $200 plus tax. Membership is designed for Ontario tenant associations and tenant advocates working to improve renters’ rights and housing conditions.
Practical member benefits
Reduced-rate services through Cross Legal Services; AGI analysis guides, organizing resources and peer connections. Our building-wide capital-expense AGI Calculator is now available as a public beta, free to use through December 31, 2026. Calculator access does not require membership during this period.
A province-wide network
Connect with tenant associations, share experience, and learn from the strategies and challenges of other renter communities.
Collective advocacy
Membership supports work to strengthen renter protections, improve AGI rules and put tenants at the centre of housing decisions.
Tenant associations interested in connecting with the coalition are welcome to get in touch. Member-only tools and discounts are available to members.
Collective experience can make a difference
Above Guideline Rent Increases are one example of an issue tenant associations can take on together. The High Park Tenants’ Association has documented more than $11 million in savings through AGI challenges as of June 2026.
